Dracula Sushi Roll

A Fun Halloween Sushi Roll Served Year Round

What makes eating sushi so enjoyable? “Sushi tastes amazing” is the obvious answer. Yet equally as obvious an answer is the presentation of the sushi.

Sushi is some of the most ‘picture worthy’ food there is. Each roll is a piece of art. The dracula roll is no exception. It is a carefully crafted sushi roll served in a mini wooden coffin with the lid closed. When you open the lid of the coffin, smoke from cedar wood chips slowly escapes…making for a spooky, yet delightful presentation.

Itto Sushi’s dracula roll is one of Chef Itto’s masterpiece rolls. He got the idea while smoking some ribs for his family one night.

“I love the flavor smoke infuses into foods cooked on my Traeger smoker. The idea hit me that we could get similar flavors infused into sushi rolls from burning wood chips from a smoke gun. Capturing the smoke in the wooden coffin for a few minutes allows the sushi roll to capture the smoked flavor without the smoke overpowering the other flavors of the sushi roll.”

The dracula roll was originally only to be served around Halloween time. However, the roll received such high praise from Itto Sushi’s patrons that we decided to offer it year round.
